Buck, I am in such shock. I talked to you so much during Tom’s campaign run in Iowa. We became great friends and I was suppose to come out to AZ and meet you this winter but never made it. You did so much for your cause. I can’t thank you enuf. You just left me a message the day before May 1 to make sure i was doing something to rally for May Day in Iowa. I am so saddened by this, Buck. You were a true patriot! I love you Baby Buck and I will miss our talks.

    What a tragedy this is…

Thank you for all of your encouragement and support when I needed you the most!

  14. Sandy Says:

Buck was the best evidence that goodness comes wrapped in unexpected packages. I wish we could have Buck’s “riderless bike” in the memorial ride.

  15. Patrice Says:

I met Buck last fall at one of the Pruitt’s rallies! He struck me as an extremely kind and gentle man! The U.S.A. needs millions more like him - he was an inspiration to us all and that inspiration will live on through those who knew him.

Buck - you will be missed but never forgotten!

  16. Mike D Says:

I like that idea “Buck’s riderless bike”. Analogous to a “missing man” formation.

    MIke D

  17. Mike D Says:

Let’s atleast have a “missing biker” formation, and leave room for Buck somewhere in front where he can lead us on.

  18. Sharon Says:

  27. Michelle Dallacroce Says:

Those that knew Buck had a friend like no other. Those that read this blog I hope can feel the lose of a friend who is deeply missed. Today you will have a hard time finding such a gentle and kind hearted person who seemed to live life almost childlike in his openess to be your friend and care for you as a person. As children only know in their young years, that their friends are “REALLY THEIR FRIENDS” and that promises made are promises kept. Buck was just that! He not only gave of himself but he gave of his heart to everyone who met him.

I had the rare privilege to ride with BUCK on this bike. He was my guardian angle when we would leave our rallies and we would have so much fun listening to those 70’s and 80’s rock & roll songs on his bike while we rode from point A to point B.

I was fortunate to know Buck from day ONE in his endeavor in the fight against illegal immigration as he was the in the very FIRST group of people who came to a Mothers Against Illegal Aliens (MAIA) meeting in Phoenix, Arizona to hear about what we as a nation was facing and how it was impacting our families and children. Buck was SO MOVED by our news that it inspired BUCK to start RAIA - Riders Against Illegal Aliens.

Buck traveled cross country on is bike to spread the news and to make a difference. And HE DID! He would call me after each and every trip to give me updates and progress reports on his journey which he was so proud of. He knew that those journeys on bike were impacting thousands of people who would not know otherwise of what was happening in the southwest because they would not get the news in their media or papers of the danger we faced as a nation. Only BUCK gave them that insight, those website links to continue their research and he particpated in all events in the middle America towns to be a presence for both ears, eyes and body for all of us.

He has made his mark in a world which will continue his fight with those still remaining. He will be up above with GOD to help us protect and save this nation and to inspire those who are still with us to continue to fight on.

Our lives are so short and we all must remember that our job is short lived. Here to day and gone tomorrow and with those thoughts we must remember those we fight side by side with are all too soon taken from us at some point!

We must come together as friends and patriots and work, care and share and protect each other.

    As Buck ALWAYS SAID.,…..”RIGHT ON!”

    With deepest sympathy:
    Michelle Dallacroce

    Ernie,

If you can’t dream-uo something more respectable to post, then please refrain.

  29. Mo Says:

Too bad his devotion was so misguided- he seemed to be a passionate person from what I hear. Too bad it was in the name of Xenophobic racism and a distorted view of his nationality.

  30. Tamberli Todd Says:

Buck was a special brother loved by everyone. Brother, I will miss you and your big hugs forever. Rest in peace. My heart goes out to all his family and friends. May God be there for each and everyone of your during this time of sorrow. Sincerely, Tamberli Todd

  31. Mike D Says:

Mo, This isn’t the place for that… take it to one of the other topics please.

  32. Mike D Says:

Here is the letter that Congressman Tom Tancredo sent to Buck when he decided to dropout of the Presidential race:

    Thursday, December 20, 2007

    Dear ,

It is with my heart full of gratitude and a touch of sadness that I write today to tell you of my intention to end my campaign for the presidency.

As a loyal friend and supporter it is important to me that you understand why I am doing this, even though you may disagree.

For the past ten years I have dedicated my public life to the critical issue of illegal immigration. I believed then –as I do now—that massive uncontrolled illegal immigration threatens our survival as a nation. I could not stand by and let open border politicians and corporate lobbyists sell our country out to the highest bidder.

Then earlier this year when I feared that the issue would not be championed by any of the top candidates I threw my hat in the ring. It was the only way I could be certain that the candidates would be forced to take a stand.

Thanks to your incredible support look what we have accomplished:

Just last week Newsweek declared that “Anti-immigrant zealot [that would be me] had already won. Now even Dems dance to his no mas salsa tune. ” This month alone The Economist, the New Yorker, the Wall Street Journal and a score of other newspapers have written similar assessments, grudgingly crediting our campaign with forcing the issue of immigration to the center of the national stage and — more importantly -— with forcing every presidential candidate to commit themselves to an immigration plan that calls for securing the borders, opposing amnesty and enforcing the law.

Of course, many of the candidates need to be pinned down on their understanding of the meaning of amnesty, but we have succeeded beyond my most optimistic expectations of a year ago. We even have Hillary jumping through hoops on the issue!

So with so much success why drop out of the race now, you are probably asking. For one reason and one reason alone: I believe the cause demands I do so.

The presidential campaign has come down to less than a handful of viable candidates. Unfortunately several of them have abysmal records on immigration and can’t be trusted to do what is needed to preserve this country if they’re elected. My fear is that if I were to stay in this race my votes could be the factor in handing victory to a pro-amnesty politician. Friends, we have done too much, come too far and the stakes are too high to play that hand. And so I am ending my presidential campaign.

I know there are many more battles in our future and you can count on me to stay in this fight with you. We must continue to build the unquestioned momentum that is fueling our movement today. In the weeks ahead, I will write to you again to share with you my plans for the future, and for the immigration reform movement that is transforming American politics.

But for now, I just wish to again express to you my deepest thanks and appreciation for your partnership with me in this historic effort. I also want to wish you a very blessed and merry Christmas!

We have come so far together, and through our efforts we have made a stunning and, I believe, permanent impact on the debate over securing our borders and preserving our nation.

Not a day has gone by in this campaign that I have not thanked God for the dedication of so many Americans like you. I can promise you that as long as He gives me life and strength, I will work hard for our cause and to honor the trust you have placed in me.

    With sincere best wishes,

    Tom Tancredo

  33. Caree from Iowa Says:

Buck, it’s been 2 weeks and I’m still grieving deeply for you. I am so GRATEFUL I found all of our many instant message conversations in archive and I started reading through them. Of course they brought me to tears. I can’t believe you were just telling me your dreams of retirement, of buying a home back in Iowa to be near your family and friends there and continue to home in Arizona. You asked me to ride the country with you when you retired and of course, I said yes. I was honored that you even asked. We became such best buds and I am still in denial. I can’t believe the number of people that have contacted me to tell me how much you honored and talked about me to them. “kool rays”. I also miss talking to SPOKES! Where is that little dog?
I couldn’t wait to see you in Iowa in 2 weeks. I had planned on telling you in person that I appreciate you going to bat for me to get me a job for FIRE in Iowa. I was going to tell you I had planned on moving to AZ to work the front lines with you and RAIA instead. I knew you would have been stoked. I wanted to see your expression when I told you. I never got to share that with you in person but somehow I know you now know. I feel your presence all around me. I vow to keep your fighting spirit going and I plan on coming to AZ this fall to help your family with RAIA. I love you, Buck and miss you deeply. Keep on RAIA…ing. Your baby girl from Ioway…..
