The majority does not get a voice

Just when you thought you had heard all the possible sob stories about illegal immigration victimization, Obama has now launched a program soliciting even more anecdotal justifications as to why we need to pardon unauthorized workers.  These letters are now being widely circulated and are helping tell one side of the story.

But if the grassroots “Share Your Immigration Story” submission form on the Obama website isn’t enough to convince you, then a new provision to allow gay Americans to sponsor their immigrant partners for legal residency in the US will soon introduce an entirely new host of victim stories into the broken borders discussion.

However, from these headline stories it is all too easy to conclude that if you are not a powerful special interest group, your story may go untold.  The fact is that the majority of taxpaying American citizens who now pay the tab for a lack of interior and border enforcement, and who are deserving of compassion for their suffering on this issue, will not be featured in this debate.
